I was lucky enough to see one of the Black Angels first shows ever while living in Austin, TX in 2004.  AMAZING!!  They were a complete wall-of-sound...LITERALLY.  Their sound is incredibly drug-drenched psychedelia with an almost Kraut Rock and Garage layering to their melodies.  HAZY & HEAVY...Great Combination.

"Directions to See A Ghost" is The Black Angels' Second LP and it rips!  They definitely pay homage on this album to their hometown 60's Psychedelic predecessors, The Thirteenth-Floor Elevators.   This is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years.

Not only will Weedeater be headlining most of the shows on this tour, joining them will be Black Tusk, The Gates of Slumber and Struck by Lightning!  While I was doing some digging through some records earlier this morning,  I stumbled on the rad 2 song 7-inch from San Fran's own... Wooden Shjips.  A couple years ago (2008) they recorded a fucking badass cover of Neil Young's, "Vampire Blues", which ironically is also the name of the 7-inch. Sarcasm. Check it out.
