Would You Like Some Black Angels Brownies?? Mmmmm....Brownies.

The Black Angels

"The Black Angels EP" (2005)

I was lucky enough to see one of the Black Angels first shows ever while living in Austin, TX in 2004.  AMAZING!!  They were a complete wall-of-sound...LITERALLY.  Their sound is incredibly drug-drenched psychedelia with an almost Kraut Rock and Garage layering to their melodies.  HAZY & HEAVY...Great Combination.

"Directions to See A Ghost" (2008)

"Directions to See A Ghost" is The Black Angels' Second LP and it rips!  They definitely pay homage on this album to their hometown 60's Psychedelic predecessors, The Thirteenth-Floor Elevators.   This is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years.

Vampire Blues 7-inch

(2008)

While I was doing some digging through some records earlier this morning,  I stumbled on the rad 2 song 7-inch from San Fran's own... Wooden Shjips.  A couple years ago (2008) they recorded a fucking badass cover of Neil Young's, "Vampire Blues", which ironically is also the name of the 7-inch. Sarcasm. Check it out.

Behold! The Monolith

2008 Self Titled E.P.

(Self Released)

Ass-Heavy like Mastodon and High On Fire, y'know, that sort of weightiness that you won't even headbang to because your neck feels too heavy while listening to these dudes!  This 3 song debut ep is MUCH grittier and uglier than the aforementioned heavyweights mentioned above!  And that's saying something. -Terrorizor

Behold! The Monolith(2009)

The L.A. 3-piece is back again with another 'Self-Titled' 5 song effort.  The tracks this time around are even heavier and filled with the same type of skull-crushing grooves that made the first EP so great.

If you are a fan of DOOM/STONER/SLUDGE....THIS WILL BE YOUR NEW FAVORITE BAND!!!

(MF)DOOM Vs. Tom Caruana

MF DOOM Remixed by Tom Caruana

'MF DOOM is one of my favourite rappers. I had collected his acapellas from the last few years. I remixed 4 of his tracks around the time I did the 'Rough Versions Remixes' which 'Change The Beat' featured on.

In putting this together I put the remixes in sequence with some of the spoken word and musical samples that he used on his original tracks. The tracks 'Rock Co Kane Flow' and 'Ghostwhirl' were original tracks which Doom featured on with other rappers, for my remixes I just used his verses. Hopefully Doom will hear this and we'll end up doing an album together :)' -Tom Caruana

Groove Grease (1971)

Here's another funky classic to vibe to.  This album has some sick breaks and some familiar samples.  Cypress Hill samples "The Bird" for one of my personal favorites, "Hole in the Head" and by KRS-One for "Hip Hop vs. Rap".  Hot Shit!
